We have owned this unit for a couple of weeks now and have really enjoyed it. The variable heating units are great. The controls are different from what we had but are very easy to figure out. Installation was quick and fairly easy. Leveling was also easy. I am and older gentleman and I like easy. Also the stove looks very nice.

Great oven features but fails intermittantly

The oven has great capacity, but it now stops heating in the middle of cooking without showing on the display. The display temperature says it is still up to temperature, but the oven stops heating. It doesn't happen every time, so it is completely unpredicatable. Typically restarting the oven command makes it come back on. Is this a known issue? Since it is intermittant I am concerned this will be a costly repair for a tech to come out multiple times to figure out which part is the issue and I might be charged for parts that weren't bad. For a while before this started happening, it occaisionally didn't ignite at oven start-up, but during this condition I can see on the display that the temperature doesn't rise. Restarting it seemed to work then too. My Thanksgiving pie was ruined today, and I'm really tired of dealing with an expensive oven that doesn't last. My parents' Maytag appliances lasted over 20 years, but we just had this one for 7 (purchased June 2012). I cannot afford to replace an expensive oven that often.

Great stove. Love the 3 racks and the one in the center is a heavy duty rack-great for Thanksgiving turkey! My only complaint is the griddle on top does not seem to "fit" exactly right...otherwise love it.

Basic stove, gets the cooking done, would like the grates to be heavier and sure wish I would have spent the money and got a white glass top like the stove I replaced. Trying to keep the black stove top clean is a BEAR.

We purchased the stove because our Jenn Air stove of over 20 years needed to be serviced. So we decided to replace / update. I am not truly comfortable with the new stove. There was no instruction booklet included with the stove. Some of the features like the cook time is wonderful. The oven seems to runs a little hotter than the temp that is set and I have learned to pay attention when using the oven.
The stove top is harder to clean. The large grates are heavy for me to lift and they don't fit in my sink for cleaning, which makes wiping down the stove after a meal a challenge. The complimentary griddle doesn't lay flat over the center burner, so we haven't used the center burner or the griddle much.
I do enjoy having a larger oven space, especially when baking or using my oven roaster..

I have wanted a gas range for many years and I'm so happy to finally have one. I love turning a burner on and it's hot. Water boils quickly. I am especially happy with everything I have baked. Beautifully browned and cakes are not domed in the center.
I wish I could turn the front burners down more. When I cook something that needs to be simmered at a low temp, I have to put that on the back burner. Even turned down to the lowest heat, it's still too hot. I don't use the griddle as much as I thought I would. With the burner in the center, it doesn't heat evenly but its still great for a couple of eggs while bacon cooks in the oven. Overall, I love my range.

Very happy with this new purchase. My old stove was from the 60's and was the best stove/oven I've ever had. This new one had a hard act to follow & so far I am very pleased with the function and value. One of the features I like best is the warm feature and the timer.... perfect for a busy family!

I didn't know how outdated my old stove was until I bought my new Maytag gas range. The five burners with full grate surface give me a lot of options for pan size and cooking. The large oven and self cleaning was a must for me. I love all the features of this range and the fact that it's a Maytag!

This is attractive and easy to use. Note the back is solid so we have to consider moving the gas pipe to to get the unit flush to the wall, the slide in range also is now a flush back so take a look where your gas line is located if you want to have it flush to the wall. Does have three cooking racks and includes cook top.

So far I love my new gas range. I love that grates are black cast iron. My last grates were beige and so ugly. Other reviewers were complaining about the power burners being too hot but I have not found that to be the case. Have not used the convection yet so I can't comment on that but overall the stove has been a great replacement for my old gas stove.

I bought this stove 8 months ago and love it. The convection oven is outstanding and food come out so much better than a regular stove. I do not like if you lean over the stove ( to get into above cupboard ) the knobs turn on easily. There should be more protection so the grates do not scratch the stove top surface. The aqua clean does not clean well even from the first time when it was not dirty. It would be nice to have a small burner in the front not both in the back as small pans in the back are a reach if you are stirring. BUT overall I do love this stove.

Our electric stove was getting old so it was time to get another stove. We had gas years ago but when we moved we had to go to electric. It was OK but nothing cooks like gas. we have propane so I had a service tech from our supplier run a line so we could go back to gas.My wife and I love it.It has many features the electric didn't have and it so nice cooking with gas again. Gas is King.

We really wanted two front burners of the same size, instead of one big and one "turbo," as so many ranges have. This one has what we wanted, but the burners are both high-powered, so turning them all the way down to the lowest setting is still high enough to boil away all the liquid in a soup in about 20 minutes, or to scorch rice. I'm getting used to using the back burners, which can be turned down low. The oven the great-easy to program, and it comes up to temp in just a few minutes. The convection feature also requires some adjustments to my normal way of baking, but it definitely bakes very evenly. All in all, a good purchase; just different from what I expected.

I bought this range just before Passover. I used it extensively. It works just fine, as would be expected from a new appliance. My one concern that I've discovered is that even though the description includes the term "self clean", it is not the traditional self clean that was ten years ago. This is just a light cleaning that will remove soil. It will not heat the oven to the extreme temperatures that past models did. In this respect, I cannot make my oven Kosher for Passover. I will have to resort to what we did growing up, before self clean existed. I will have to scrub the inside of the oven clean, and then line it with foil. If you observe Passover, and do not have a separate kitchen, do NOT buy this oven.

We bought the stove about a month ago. It looks better than I thought since Lowe's didn't have in stock and we had to wait 2 weeks for it. My husband changed the NG to LP on all the burners and regulator, what a job!!! This should have been done at the factory especially since we had to order it anyway. The storage drawer is very small, can only fit a ten inch and twelve inch skillet in it and it is terribly chintzy, be careful opening the edges are sharp! Just had to have service tech come double check why the burners get hot so fast. Called Maytag and customer service wouldn't send anyone, had to call Lowe's for that. Not good customer service from Maytag which is very disappointing. Back to the burners, I have to cook between low and medium so pot doesn't boil to hard or get oil in pan burning. Seems a bit crazy to me, feels more like electric than gas. Tech said everything was adjusted properly and I should research the best cookware for LP cooking! I've been cooking on LP for over 30 years and never burned much, this seems a bit extreme to have to cook at such low level. The stew I made the other day was boiling a little harder than I used to and the meat and potatoes just weren't as tender...I hope I can adjust to it soon!!! The oven seems fine and I haven't used the convection yet.

Search and searched for a gas range that dials didn't protrude out where you could bump and turn on. This was one of a few that seemed to be safe from bumps. And it is . You can't lean on it and cause it to ignite. One of the Best Buy's you will find with all the features it has. Definitely would recommend!

I purchased this item about a month ago and would return it to the store if it wasn't such a hassle. The first set of grates has 1/4" drop from the center to front of stove. So Whirlpool sent a new set; they were no better. Now they want to send a tec out to see if the grates are out of spec. If they are out of spec they will replace. If not I will be charged $89 for a service call. Since I don't know Whirlpool's grate specs are, this could be normal for this product. If you want a cooking surface that is level and one that don't SCRATCH THE BOTTOMS all your cookware, I would NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!

I had to wait 3 weeks to get one, but worth it. Beautiful looking range, love the way the grates look and fit as well as lifting easily to clean. Powerful burners may take a bit of time to get used to. I would have preferred the griddle pan to be fitted to go on centre oval burner, but I have another that does- just used to that configuration). So far, the oven doing a super job. I haven't explored all the features yet, but looking forward to that.
