I love the features of this machine, especially the delicate cycle which is very short. My work clothes are rarely dirty and just need freshened, so this is perfect. The machine offers many cycles and options and is easy to use. The option for an extra rinse is very helpful with towels. The only feature that I dislike is that you cannot adjust the spin speed on the Normal setting. Therefore, I can't use the Normal setting. It spins so fast (high) that the vibration is terrible. The reason for the three stars is that our machine reads "level" but often vibrates, moves and has to find a balance. Is this a normal problem with front loaders? Is this machine really "second-floor" ready? I told the salesman from the start that it was going on a second floor and I have had several delivery and installation people here. I constantly feel like something isn't right. I wonder if this machine should only be on concrete basement floor? Sadly, I'm not sure that we are done calling for service... Many people have said Speed Queen is the best and rarely needs to be repaired. I wish we could figure out these other issues because I just want to enjoy this expensive machine.

I was so excited for this washer to arrive when I ordered it. Purchased it based on Consumer Report reviews for durability and reliability. When it arrived all looked great, style, easy to use and simple. From the VERY FIRST LOAD, the machine makes a horrible high pitched squeaking noise when the washer goes into the spin cycle and the noise continues for a few seconds to a minute. Called the store the next day. A repair guy glcame out and was unable to fix the noise. The store then sent their senior service man out to take a look at the machine and he was unable to fix it. The machine has made the noise on EVERY SINGLE LOAD that I have done. The store was in touch with Speed Queen and the manufacturer sent new parts that "may fix the problem". Well, it didn't. I was then told by the service man that the store now has three machines of this model that are doing the exact same noise. It's now been six months since I've had this machine and I have to leave the house when I do laundry because of the noise. I have been told by the store that a replacement has been ordered. We will see if that actually happens and if the replacement is any better than this machine. If I hadn't of spent so much money on this laundry pair, I would of just cut my losses and chosen something else. This is absolutely the worst decision that I have made for a purchase. This machine is not worth the money. Better off buying another brand

I bought a Speed Queen washer last fall. After awhile it started making noise while on the spin cycle. The appliance repair shop has come out four times as of today. They adjusted the pulley and then replaced the shocks. The washer sounded better but still made noise while spinning. They replaced the belt and pulley at another repair session. It's still making noise mid spin cycle and they are talking to the technical support line. Unfortunately the technical support line is on hold and this is taking awhile. I am hopeful that this will be fixed soon or a replacement washer will happen. During the eight months that I have had this washer I have not been able to use it for over a month while the shocks were on order. I am still using it lightly but this is frustrating! It's a new washer and supposed to be quality. This is front load FF7005WN

I recently replaced my 21 year old front loader with a Speed Queen (FF7009WN). My old unit was not dead but it was getting old and tired so I'm hoping to get at least the same service life out of this new one. I was looking for an "old school" front load machine which uses more than a cup of water to actually "wash" clothes. That pretty much narrowed it down to only Speed Queen and I was NOT disappointed. If you're looking for the very best front loader to handle all your washing needs without wifi and other frills and gimmicks then this is the machine for you. If you want a fake stainless steel tub surrounded by a plastic outer tub and junk then go buy pretty much any other brand. If you don't believe me about fake stainless steel tubs go run a magnet inside any other washer machine tub and you'll find that it sticks. The internals of this machine is just as beautiful as the outside with real parts that won't fail as soon as the warranty expires, Speaking of warranty, the place I bought this Speed Queen didn't even bother to try and sell me an extended warranty because they said it's a waste of money. I almost fell for the cool wifi options out there and to make things easier by dumping the entire bottle of detergent inside and let the machine automatically do the dosing but these things just create more failure points on the appliance. I also see that the sizes are getting monstrous in washing capacities without increasing the dimensions of the unit - how is this even possible? Well I guess they skimp on the insulation and other important parts which increase longevity. Customer service is top notch with Speed Queen, I've called with questions during the busiest times but they always managed to call me back pretty fast. One last thing, can you imagine the mold growing from all the detergent those machines hold when you dump the whole bottle in it? I never had mold issues with my old unit so I expect to never have a problem my new Speed Queen since I never keep the door closed unless it's washing a load and I always rinse out the soap dispenser. If you follow these simple things you will never have any mold issues which seem to be a downside of having a front load washer. Take care of a Speed Queen and you will have it for decades. The guys who delivered mine told me that they remove old working Speed Queens from peoples homes that are 30-40 years old! That speaks volumes.

The machine definitely feels quality with a high degree of durability. It's been a short amount of time so can't tell for sure but wash quality is great. Knocked off 1 star for two reasons: 1. Machine shakes during washing and moves all-over the place - could be due to how powerful it is (which is great) but also makes it hard to stop from "walking" even after having purchased special risers for it 2. Door lock mechanism is somewhat faulty and looks / feels / sounds cheap; 1/2 the time the door-lock sensor doesn't think the door is locked so you have to "play" with it and the door lock itself has an unpleasant plastic closing sound and requires quite a bit of force to close Overall, happy that we supported a made-in-the-USA company and hope to have this machine for a long time...just wish the door-lock had a little more design baked into it.

The machine has been leveled. It squeaks and bounces across the floor when it spins. Yes the stabilizing bolts were removed. Still waiting on repair crew 5 weeks after install. I bought these machines for years of trouble-free operation, spent a ton of money on them, and can't even use them.

I've now run several loads through my new Speed Queen front loading machine, including heavy loads of blue jeans, white dress shirts, and a double sized quilt. Every wash came out clean and well rinsed. The fast spin cycle gets the load extremely dry which has shortened the dryer time. The machine is extremely quite. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Only had this machine for about a month, but so far it has been great. We really had no complaints about our previous washer which was a front loader we bought second hand from a friend for $75 and got 10 years worth of use out of. How can you complain about that? But we do appreciate value and quality and not just saving a buck in the short term; after all, cheap purchases become expensive when you have to keep replacing them. So when our washer stopped performing like it should, we wanted to make sure we replaced it with a well-made machine. All my online research combined with personal experience with appliances equipped with unnecessary tech steered us toward a washer that would get our laundry clean, last for years and could actually be repaired if necessary. I did consider a Speed Queen top loader because of the lower price point, great reviews and the ability to completely submerge clothes while soaking, but ultimately decided we would be happier long term with a front loader. I love this washing machine! It is powerful, simple to use, lets me change settings to my preferences and it gets the laundry clean. We are a multigenerational household of 5 plus I also wash my elderly dad's laundry every week so our washer sees a lot of volume.It also sees a lot of dirt and stink from our family's hobbies which include horses, hunting, golfing, going to the gym, fishing, gardening and dogs. So while we've only had it a short time, we've really put it through its paces. One concern I did have pre-purchase was whether or not it would be able to handle our large feather down comforters. I sure didn't want to spend top dollar for a machine and still have to pay almost thirty dollars every time our bedding needed washed. My worries were quickly put to rest; not only does it thoroughly clean the comforters but they are very well spun out so they spend less time in the dryer. I like that the washer pulls straight hot water on the hot setting, that I can soak items for as long as needed and that it is just overall easy to use and gets the job done. If it continues to do that for the next fifteen years then it will have met every expectation we had for it. Highly recommend this washing machine.

Spent a couple thousand as my previous washing machines struggled with bulky loads. I have two dogs and often have to wash dog beds etc. Also my husband and I have a king size bed and bedding bulky. Anyways I was told this was top of the line and the sturdier. I read the manual and followed the directions; when I have a bulky item like a dog bed, ad small items like a bunch of socks etc to balance it out, and use HE detergent. It still struggles- sometimes shuts off, sometimes rocks all over the room, spills water etc. It was professionally installed and balanced as well. I like how it has many modes and options and can do regular loads faster. It also spins dryer than my prior washer, which means less time in dryer.

Having had a Maytag front load washer for years, I wanted to stick with a front loader after the Maytag died after 25 years. Most front load washers have the door hinge on the left side. Our washer needed to have the hinge on the right. Speed Queen is one of the few that you can get with a hinge on the right.

I paid a pretty penny for this washer because I was tired of replacing washing machines every few years. There have been various occasions where I've had to run another spin cycle because whatever I've washed is still dripping wet. This happens even when I've selected the highest and longest spin cycle. Recently I've noticed that the laundry detergent drips down the front of the washer all the way down to the floor. I use way less detergent than the amount recommended by the manufacturer. I am not happy with how the machine has performed so far.

The washer is extremely solid, sturdy and well built, and the manufacturer's confidence in their product is evidenced by the 5 year full parts and labor warranty it comes with from the factory. Customer service has been excellent when I've had any questions. I believe our clothes are coming out cleaner than our old top loader from another manufacturer and the cycles are at least 30 minutes shorter. It was not an inexpensive purchase, but you get what you pay for and I wanted a washer that was going to last more than the usual 6-8 years for most units out there. So far I am very satisfied and hope that as time goes on it continues to perform well, be reliable, and not fail at the rate other appliances have on us. The only shortcoming is that the capacity is 3.5 cu/ft versus the usual 4.5 of other front load units out there, but it really hasn't been a problem and its a worthwhile sacrifice for the reliability and durability of a Speed Queen.

Something is wrong with the balancing system, suspecting one or more bad shocks, one is leaking. Brand new. The washer cost over $2000. My cheapo Frigidaire was smooth and silent, and I thought I was buying a quality for life replacement, and so far I'm regretting my purchase. We'll see if I can get it resolved so it quits walking around the floor. And what purpose was it to create a front load washer that can't be stacked? Why would anyone want the front loading in that case? I'm needing to modify my laundry room to re-enable units side by side again.

My first load of was the door would not open. Could not get the clothes out for two days. A technician came out got the door opened and put a new door lock on. That did not fix the problem. A control system was ordered, which took a week. That sometimes workes. My husband discovered that if you push in on the bottom of the door then it opens. Still having problems with the door not opening. Machine washes great. Can't always get the door to open.

This is my first Speed Queen purchase. And WOW expensive. Seems to wash ok, as it is supposed to, but a a couple issues prevent me from singing praises. First and the worst part for me is the dashboard lights. Eye piercing blue LED (laser??) I can't read the settings because the setting names are dim and the indicator light is so piercingly blue. If anything that should have been reversed. Like that the setting description brighter and the indicator dimmer, or more mellow, not so terribly bright. Secondly, and I don't know that this could ever be addressed, but it is hard to see in the washer. and there is usually a sock or one little something that has clung to the side of the tub, and not found until the next load. Need lighting of some kind in there.

Well built. Cleans excellent. My old front loader always had a mildew smell and I felt like my towels and boy's clothes never smelled fresh. Since punching the Speed Queen all of my laundry smells fresh without the use of scented detergents to mask the smell. Previous reviews noted that this is due to Speed Queen using a continuous solid metal drum so liquid empties completely. Most front loaders use plastic drums and to make them stronger require folding of the plastic - this traps moisture in the drum promoting mildew. Per recommendations from the Speed Queen customer service, we wipe the door and inner rubber ring after the last use and do not over use soap and have not had any mildew issue in this machine. Also, make sure your delivery team removes all 3 shipping bolts or the machine will shake. There are 2 bolts in the back and 1 in the front. Our front shipping bolt was not removed. Luckily Speed Queen's customer service was very helpful and walked me though the process.

Had the machine for a month now. Definitely runs smooth and solid. Sometimes door latch sensor says door is open and needs to be closed firmly but that hasnt happened the last few times.

Speed Queen is quality and has never let me down. It is the best washer/dryer on the market. When my last washing machine went out, my service tech told me Speed Queen is the best out there so that's what I purchased and I have never been happier. It cleans great and has never let me down. My last Speed Queen was 7 years old and I had to sell it because it was a stackable and didn't fit in my laundry room because of cabinets up above. So I bought a side by side unit. It is all I will purchase. They do cost more but you have to also consider they come with an extended warrantee so in the end, it only cost a little more than other brands and really you will save in the long run because you won't be purchasing a new one in 5 to 7 years like other brands.

For what we paid for this washer, zi am a little disappointed. Clothes get very twisted and balled up in the washer and we have a constant puddle near the door seal that leads to mold and sludge. I am going to contact the company about this.

I had very high hopes, but being honest I am disappointed with this washer. The soap dispenser drawer leaks down the front of the washer when using a hot water wash. So much steam in such a small compartment, the steam is vented out the handle of the dispenser drawer, which seems like a mistake, then eventually creates a stream of water running down the front of the washer. Occasionally, when going to start a new load, I open the dispenser drawer, and the fabric softener compartment is full of water. I have to then remove the whole drawer from the washer, to dump it out, before I can put fabric softener in. I wish the washer had an indicator on it to alert me if it was not able to reach the speed I had it set to spin, due to balance issues. I would then know I needed to run it through another spin cycle. I think the washer does a good job, but for the price, I don't think I should be having these problems. I would think Speed Queen would have all the bugs worked out. I have not been able to reach out to the dealer yet, as I do have videos of the problems described. I do plan to do this.
